Beaches in Goa
Goa is world renowned for its lovely palm
fringed beaches. The soft sand, the solacing
sun and the murmuring sea captivates numerous
beach seekers to this emerald land. Since
the late 60s, travellers to India have been
pouring in large numbers to the tantalizing
beaches of Goa India. Goa exhibits some
most luring and most loving atmosphere wrapping
the entire surroundings of the beaches,
which runs endlessly through out the seashores

Calangute Beach
The beautiful beach of Calangute is located
in the northern end, which extends to 5
km stretch that starts at Fort Aguada and
includes Sinquerim, Candolim, then Calangute
and Baga.
Colva
Beach
Similarly, the amazing beach of Colva is
located in the centre of the 20 km southern
stretch. The longest beach in Goa, Colva
starts from Velsao and ends at Mobor, embracing
several village names along the way.
Candolim
Beach
Candolim beach in Goa is less crowded and
a quieter beach when compared to the Anjuna
or Calangute beaches. Though, it is quite
familiar with the tourists, you can still
find some quiet places for yourself to relax.
You are also welcome to try your hand at
fishing, as Candolim is one fine beach destination
for experiencing it. The Candolim beach
also offers various other water-sports activities
- right from parasailing to water-skiing.

and meditation session which come as a bonus
for the tourists in Goa.
Baga
Beach
The Baga beach in Goa is more of a fishing
beach. It is another beautiful beach in
Goa that is tranquil and peaceful place
to recline. If you want to be away from
the hustle-bustle found on the other beaches,
then Baga beach comes as a welcome respite.
Apart from being less crowded, Baga beach
is extremely beautiful.
Anjuna
Beach
The favourite haunt of the hippies since
the 1960s, Anjuna beach is one of the most
visited beaches in Goa. Anjuna beach is
generally too crowded but still manages
to maintain its charm & beauty. Wide
expanse of sands studded by colourful beach
umbrellas meet the eyes of the visitors,

Most of India's finest beaches are in Kerala.
Beaches are the major tourist attraction
in Kerala, located in the southern tip of
India. Though, Kovalam is the most preferred
beach in Kerala, there are several other
beaches which no less good. The long coastline
fringed with the oscillating coconut palms
and studded with an occasional fishing hamlet
is fast growing into one of the world's
best destination of beaches. Kerala, with
its finest palm-lined beaches, are renowned
for the gentle surf and azure blue waters.

Papanasam Beach (Varkala)
Papanasam, meaning 'that which destroy sins',
is a sacred beach in the state of Kerala.
A tranquil and secluded stretch of sand,
the Papanasam Beach in Varkala Kerala is
famous for its mineral springs and rocky
cliffs. The 2000 year old Sree Janardhana
Swamy temple and the Nature Care Centre
are the two main attractions near the beach.
Kovalam Beach
Located 16 km south of Thiruvananthapuram
(Trivandrum) city, Kovalam is a world-famous
beach resort, which has been a favourite
beach destination for tourists since 1930s.
The lovely coconut palms fringing the golden
sands captivates numerous travellers from
all over. The palm-fringed bays of Kovalam
in secluded coconut groves, promise a relaxed
stay. Foreigners pour into the Ayurvedic
parlors, yoga and meditation centers, that
have sprung up all over the place.
Alleppey
Beach
Alleppey Beach is a long spectacular beach
with thick palm groves, that are very unique
to Kerala’s landscape. To provide
much enjoyment to the visitors there is
a Vijaya Beach Park and an old lighthouse
nearby. The Vijaya beach park consist of
picnic spot with children's park & boating
facilities. Blessed with nature's abundant
green beauties such as lagoons, vast lakes
and several fresh water rivers, Alleppey
is a natural wonderland of Kerala.
Kappad
Beach
16 kms from Kozhikode (Calicut), Kappad
Beach is the historic beach destination
where Vasco-da-Gama landed on the 27th of
May 1498, with 170 men in three vessels.
A monument on the beach immortalises this
historic event. The most interesting and
amazing feature of the landscape is the
sprawling rock that extends into the sea.
The temple standing on the rock is believed
to be 800 years old.

The most prominent feature of the Maharashtrian
coastline is the state capital, Mumbai.
Mumbai is one major metropolis of India
with huge population, growing industries
and sprawling suburbs. The 720 km long coastal
line of Maharashtra, sprawls from Dahani
and Bordi in the north, to Goa proceeding
southwards. The beaches in Maharashtra are
few of the very best hangouts in India.

Chowpatty Beach
Chowpatty beach is in the heart of Mumbai.
Though the beaches remain empty throughout
the day, it becomes a hub of several activities
in the evenings. On this beach the most
famous are the Kiosks. These stalls sell
all kinds of local Maharashtrian snacks
like - Chatt & Tikki and also the most
unforgettable and famous Bhelpuri. Apart
from the food, this place is full of life
with people from all walks of life taking
a stroll on the beach.
Juhu
Beach
Juhu is one of the largest and frequently
visited tourist beaches of India on the
shores of Arabian Sea. One of the prime
and posh localities of Mumbai is also situated
along this sea coast. This place houses
the bungalows of famous Bollywood personalities.
Luxury hotels and apartments line the southern
end of Juhu Beach, which are a favourite
haunt of Mumbai's movers and shakers. It's
no place for a swim or a sunbathe, but on
weekends and weekday afternoons there are
horse and donkey rides, dancing monkeys,
acrobats, cricket matches, toy sellers and
every other type of Indian beach entertainment.
Velneshwar
Beach
170 km from Ratnagiri is the village of
Velneshwar. It's adjoining beach is clean
and natural and is lined with coconut trees.
Swimming and other water sports are possible
there as the beach is free from rocks. There
is an old Shiva temple near Velneshwar which
is frequently visited by pilgrims.
Marve
Lying to the north of Mumbai, is the Marve
- a beautiful and calm getaway, ideal for
the people who are looking for a peaceful
location to relax. Low - lying hills make
for an amazing canvas, for the glorious
sights of sunrise and sunset at Marve. Gorai
and Manori, a little further away, though
a bit crowded with travellers, are popular
for their wonderful all night beach parties.
A 15 minute ferry ride from Marve or Borivili
takes you to Gorai and Manori.
Bassien
Beach
Situated 77 km away from Mumbai, Bassien
beach is well connected by road and rail
(take a Virar local train). It is much quieter
and have a Portuguese flavour. Portuguese
food is served by the locals who also rent
out shacks and room. The resplendent Bassien
Fort is a place here to see.
Beaches in Andhra Pradesh
With a coastline extending almost 1000 km,
Andhra Pradesh boasts of some of the the
best sun kissed beaches in the country.
Quite similar to some other beaches of the
country, the beaches of Andhra Pradesh truly
have golden sands against a backdrop of
bright blue waters of the Bay of Bengal.
Beginning at Bheemunipatnam near Visakhapatnam
down to Mypad in Nellore district, the coastline
of Andhra Pradesh offers unlimited enjoyment
to the sun lovers and sea bathers. Apart
from Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam beaches,
there are other famous beaches such as Manginapudi,
Kakinada, Chirala, Kalingapatnam and Mypad.

Vodarevu Beach
Located 6 km away from Chirala in the Prakasam
district of Andhra Pradesh is the Vodarevu
Beach. Vodarevu beach is an ideal hideout
to spend a quite and nice weekend. It is

inflow of tourists. This is a nice gateway
from the busy lifestyle of the city.
Bheemunipatnam
The 25 krn expanse of road literally kissing
the seacoast from Visakhapatnam to Bheemunipatnam
is simply mind-blowing. This place has numerous
attractions from the 17th century. The major
one you should not miss are - the Dutch
settlement, ruined fort, armoury and the
oldest Dutch cemetery.
Ramakrishna
Beach
Ramakrishna Beach derived its name from
a temple of lord Rama and Krishna. This
beach is very popular with all types of
tourists, who come here to unwind and enjoy
with their families. On a full moon night
the entire atmosphere of the beach and endless
sea transforms into a silver sheen and is
a sight to see and admire.

Murudweshwar
Beach
Murudweshwar Beach is a scenic place, situated
about 16 km from Bhatkal in the state of
Karnataka in South India. Surrounded by
the azure sea and green hills, this place
is a favourite haunt for the tourists. It
is renowned for the majestic temple standing
proudly on a hillock by the shore. There
is a massive fort located behind the temple,
said to have been renovated by Tipu. The
