DAY
1 :- Arrive Delhi –Welcome on
arrival at Delhi airport, meet & assistance by our representative
and transfer to hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in delhi
DAY 2 :- delhi/lucknow/sravasti –Breakfast at
gotel. Transfer to domestic airport to catch flight for lucknow on
arrival transfer to hotel for lunch. After lunch drive to sravasti (
243 kms, 06 hrs approx.). On arrival check-to hotel. Evening free.
Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in sravasti.
DAY 03 :- sravasti/lumbini –breakfast at hotel.
Proceed for sightseeing visiting maheth : identified with the
remains of the city. Maheth cover an area of about 400 acres.
Excavations have exposed the massive gates of the city, ramparts and
also the ruins of other structures, which stand testimony to the
prosperity of ancient sravasti, saheth –known primarily as the site
of Jetvana monastery , saheth
covers an area of 32 acres. Lying about a quarter of a mile to the
south-west of Maheth, it is an important place of pilgrimage,
adorned with numerous shrines, stupas and monasteries. Lunch at
hotel then drive to lumbini (260 kms, 6-7 hrs approx.). on arrival
check-in to hotel, dinner & overnight stay in lumbini.
DAY 04 :- lumbini/kushininagar- breakfast at hotel.
Proceed for sightseeing of birth place of lord Buddha Lumbini : the
history of dis place dates back to the time of borth of lord Buddha
around 560 BC. The sites to visit here are grand stone pillar
erected by emperor ashoka in 249 BC. Shrine of maya devi (Buddha’s
mother ). It contains a stone relief depicting buddha’s native
scene. Lunch at hotel then drive to kushinagar ( 120 kms, 03 hrs
approx.). on arrival check-in to hotel. After some rest proceed for
sightseeing visiting Nirvana temple- this temple houses the 6 metres
long statue of reclining Buddha which was unhearthed in 1876 carved
from chunar sandstone, the statue has an enscription below that
dates the statue to the 5th century AD. Ramabhar stupa –
referred to as the Mukt Bandhan Vihar in ancient biddhist texts,
this stupa marks the site where the lord Buddha was cremated & this
large stupa rises to a height of 49 ft. dinner & overnight stay at
hotel in kushinagar.
DAY 05 :- kushinagar/ vaishali/ patna – breakfast
at hotel. Drive to patna (270 kms.) with packed lunch enroute
sightseeing of VAISHALI- a special place for the Buddhists as Buddha
delievered his last sermon here and announced his impending
“Nirvana”. The 2nd Buddhist council held after 100 years
of buddha’s parinirvana also took place here. After sightseeing
drive to patna. On arrival check in. Dinner & overnight stay at
hotel in patna .
DAY 06 :- patna/ nalanda/ rajgir/ bodhgaya-
breakfast at hotel. Dirve to bodhgaya enroute sightseeing of nalanda
(90 kms. 3:30 hrs approx.) on arrival sightseeing ruins of nalanda
university.- the centre of one of the oldest known universities of
the world. The ruins contain a number of Buddhist stupas and
chaitya, monasteries, hostels, cells or rooms on four side with a
central courtyard.
DAY 07 :- at bodhgaya- breakfast at hotel. Visit
mahabodhi temple- the main shrine of supreme enlightment, the
mahabodhi temple is unique amongst other north Indian temples. It is
an architectural amalgamation of many centuries & cultures. The
bodhi-tree situated inside the temple premises, under which budda
attained illumination. It is believed to be the fourt or fifth
generation off springs of the original. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon
sightseeing of nirjana river, sujata village & monasteries of
different countries( optional). Dinner & overnight stay at hotel in
bodhgaya.
DAY 08 :- at bodhgaya- breakfast at hotel. Day at
leisure. All meals at hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in bodhgaya.
DAY 09 :- bodhgaya/ Varanasi- early morning
breakfast. Then drive to Varanasi. (234 kms., 6-7 hrs approx.) with
packed lunch. On arrival first sightseeing of sarnath- situated
about 10 kms from Varanasi is the place where Buddha preached his
first sermon after he had attained enlightment at bodhgaya. At
museum in sarnath see the ashok pillar with its four guardia lions
that has been as india’s national emblem. Dinner & overnight stay at
hotel in Varanasi.
DAY 10 :- Varanasi/ agra- early morning visit to
river ganges- sightseeings of wonderful ghats
(bank of river), enjoy the boat ridewith picturesque view of
sunrise. Breakfast at hotel. Free till departure. After lunch
transfer to station to catch train to agra. Overnight in train.
DAY 11 :- agra/ delhi- arrive agra and transfer to
hotel. Proceed for sightseeing at agra city first visiting one of
the world’s most famous monument- “Taj Mahal” built by mughal
emperor shah jahan for his empress mumtaz mahal. The construction
believed to have takien 22 years (started in 1631) to complete with
over 20,000 craftsmen working round the clock. Now proceed for
sightseeing tour of magnificient agra fort- built on the banks of
Yamuna river, is situated in the centre of the town, various styles
of the architecture are evident within the fort & demonstrates the
love of mughal emperors towards building beautiful
monuments. Lunch at hotel. Drive to delhi. On arrival
check-in the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in delhi.
DAY 12 :- delhi departure- breakfast at hotel
proceed for city tour visiting india gate, lakshmi narayan temple.
Also drive past the president’s house, parliament house, government
secretariat buildings. Lunch at nice city restaurant. Afternoon
visit raj ghat, shanty vana and a drive past jama masjid(mosque),
red fort & chandni chowk. Here you are free for traditional Indian
shopping. Dinner at night lity restaurant. Timely transfer to
airport for onward journey.
