Attractions In Delhi
Jama
Masjid – This is one of the
largest Mosque in India. The construction
started in 1644 and completed in 1658. In
Jama Mosque (one of the main attractions
of Old Delhi) there are two minars (40meters
high), four angle towers and three gateways.
Rajghat
– After his assassination in 1948
Mahatama Gandhi was cremated at this spiritual
place situated at the banks of river Yamuna.
Jantar
Mantar - Within Connaught Place
is the Jantar Mantar observatorybuilt by
the Rajput king of Jaipur, Sawai Jai Singh
in 1724. It is built with massonary instruments
to observe the movements of stars and planets.

Gate - This arch of triumpThe 42
Meter high, free standing arch, was desined
by Lutyens and built in 1931.The names off
the 90000 soldiers who died in World War
I are inscribed on it in their memory.
Rashtrapati
Bhavan – This is the official
residence of the President of India. The
building engulfs the characters of both
Mughal as well as Western architectural
style. Surrounded by gardens and Raj path,
this was completed in 1929.
Old
Fort – Legend has it that
the fort marked the site of Indraprastha,
the magnificent capital of Pandavas. This
fort with its massive walls was started
by Humayun but was completed around 1540
by Sher Shah.
Qutab
Minar – This magnificent
structure in South of Delhi was built by
the muslim king, Qutub-Ud-Din Aibak in 199
A.D. 73m in height, this tower tapers from
a diameter of 15m to 2.5m. There are five
distinct storeys, each of which has a protruding
balcony.

Attractions of Agra
Agra
Fort - This rusty and majestic
red-Sandstone fort of Agra standing on the
banks of the river Yamuna, was constructed
by Emperor Akbar in 1566. Additions were
made by his grandson, Shah Jahan. The fort
was built keeping in mind a military construction.
However, during Shah Jahan's reign, part
of it was converted into a palace.
Itmad-ud-daulah’s
Tomb - This is the tomb of the
Persian Mirza Ghiyas Beg, who was the chief
minister of Jehangir.
Taj Mahal - This monument,
dressed in white marble, is the symbol of
eternal love. It was built by Shah Jahan
in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz
and has the cremation tombs of him and his
beloved wife, Mumtaz-e-Mahal.
Fatehpur
Sikri - Situated 40Kms from Agra
on the way to Jaipur Fatehpur Sikri is a
perfectly preserved red sandstone castle
often called "Ghost City" which
was the estranged capital of Mughal Emperor
Akbar, built in 1569. It ws desserted because
its water supply failed for unknown reasons.
